iPad gives several clear indications that it’s charging

Here’s how to tell:

1. On the Lock Screen

• When you plug in the charger, you’ll briefly see a large battery icon appear in the middle of the screen with a lightning bolt symbol inside it.

→ This means charging has started.

2. In the Status Bar

• In the top-right corner (next to the battery icon):

• If it’s charging, you’ll see a lightning bolt inside or next to the battery icon.

• If it’s fully charged, the lightning bolt disappears and the battery icon appears full (green or white).

3. On the Home Screen

• The battery icon in the top-right corner shows the same lightning bolt when charging.

4. If it’s powered off

• When you plug it in, a battery icon appears briefly on the screen showing the current charge level.

• If the battery is very low, you might see a red empty battery icon for a few seconds before the iPad turns on and begins charging.
