Bangalore’s software exports to touch $13.5 billion

BANGALORE: Unperturbed by the US economic recession, the software exports from Bangalore is expected to touch 13.5 billion dollars for the current fiscal.

Talking to ANI, Karnataka Principal Secretary for Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, Ashok Kumar C. Manoli said that Bangalore was the favored Information Technology (IT) destination and would expect to reach 60 billion dollars of software exports by 2010.

Bangalore has 248 Business Process Outsourcing (BPOs) and 183 bio-technology companies with a work force of 5.5 lakhs techies.
